James Roy Turpen, 85, of Lula passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at New Horizons Lanier Park following an extended illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 10, 2020 at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Batusic officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church. On January 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. a memorial service will be held at Camp Creek Baptist Church. Interment will be in Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lakemont, GA.
Born on July 5, 1935, he was the son of the late Jable Cecil Turpen and the late Hassie Page Turpen. He was a retired truck driver. Mr. Turpen was a devoted Christian who attended Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Turpen is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Turpen.
Mr. Turpen is survived by his wife, Eileen Elizabeth (Murray) Turpen of Lula; daughter and daughter in law, Paige and Jennifer Simpson; sons and sons in law, Shannon and Michael Kleeman and Brian and Jason Turpen.
