John Zeb Carver of Dillard, Ga. passed away April 30, 2020 in Hiawassee Ga., surrounded by loved ones.

Born June 24 1947 in Rabun County, he was the only son of  the late Darie  Buster “Buck”  Carver and Wiley Leona “Dink”  Thomas Carver.  John was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a former construction worker with Crunkleton Construction and long-time truck driver for Church Oil Company. He was a Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Joann Carver Chastain.

John is survived by two daughters, Tava Carver Bradshaw (Don) of Hiawassee, Ga. and Mary Jimnette Carver Yeary (Jay) of Lakemont, Ga.;   nine sisters,  Mary Jane (Jim) McCoy, Rabun Gap Ga., Hilda McLucas Dillard Ga., Earline Benefield, Clayton Ga., Claudia Dodgins, Mountain City Ga., Katie Woodall,  Tiger Ga., Bimbo Gass, Whittier N.C., Phyllis (Roger) Ramey,  Lakemont Ga., Kaye (David ) Collins, Clayton Ga., Faye (Steve) Partain, Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Samantha Grier, Trent Carver, Grayson Carver, Quenn Yeary, Tori Bradshaw, amd Chloe Spears; seven great-grandchildren,  Ryan, Max, KarlieJae, Dylen, Serena, Anna, and Hunter; and a Special Friend, Margaret York. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive

When sending flowers or arrangements, the family asks you to consider rooted household or outdoor plants/bushes over cut arrangements allowing them to be placed in memorial gardens. 

Due to the (COVID-19) per the State rules and guidelines, a private graveside service at Hale Ridge Cemetery for (immediate family) only was held on Monday May 4, 2020 with Rev. Jackie Watts officiating.
