Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Michael Manford Kvamme, age 76, passed away on Thursday, Feb 25, 2021 at his home in the mountains of Clayton, Ga., surrounded by his wife and children.

He was born in Brownwood, Tx. and raised in Madison, Wi., where he attended Madison East high school. He graduated from St. Olaf College in Minnesota before serving in the Vietnam War piloting aircraft refuelers for the US Air Force.

He settled with his family in Spokane, Wa., and began his career as a financial advisor. He also completed his military career in the Washington Air National Guard, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He was an enthusiastic soccer player for more than 40 years before he gave it up in favor of hiking for joy and fitness. He was also a fantastic cook and he loved entertaining family and friends with good wine and food. He attended Central Lutheran Church in Spokane with his family for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Jensen; children Christina (Kurt) Gough, Daniel J. Kvamme, Erik (Lisa Maticic) Kvamme, their mother Beverly Kvamme; grandchildren Michael and Annika Gough; his brother David J. (Elizabeth Bryan) Kvamme and his sister-in-law Nancy Kvamme.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel C. Kvamme and his parents, Manford and Alice Kvamme.

A private memorial service will be held in Clayton at St. James Episcopal Church.
