Richard “Dick” Franklin Livingston Jr. passed away peacefully June 8, 2022.

Dick was born May 24, 1945, in Daytona Beach, Fla., he was the son of the late Richard Franklin Livingston and Jeanette Marie Livingston. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Donna Raynor Livingston of Lakemont.

He is survived by his brother-in-law and sister, Dr. John and Carol Stanton of Titusville, Fla.; his son, Alan Livingston and daughter-in-law, Anna of York County, S.C.; daughter, Caryn Livingston Gardner of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and precious grandchildren, Emma Scott Livingston, Lofton Livingston and Laura Gardner. He graduated from Seabreeze Senior High School in Daytona Beach, Fla., where he met his high school sweetheart, Donna. He graduated from Emory University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, and then earned his Juris Doctorate. After graduation, Dick married his high school sweetheart, Donna. They raised their family in Atlanta where Dick established his law firm, Chesnut & Livingston, and practiced real estate law for 50 years. Dick took great joy in serving his community as an active member the Georgia Bar Association, Gwinnett Chapter of Atlanta Home Builders Association, and Tucker Civic Association. He served as a member of the session for Rabun Gap Presbyterian. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. Dick and Donna chose Lakemont as their full-time residence in 2013. They loved being surrounded by the beauty of the mountains. Dick was well known for his many talents including woodworking and long-range competitive shooting. Although Dick was passionate about hunting and the outdoors, his family will most fondly remember him spending evenings enjoying a good book.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church on Aug. 20, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick’s honor to the New Building Fund of Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 333, Rabun Gap, GA 30568. Online condolences may be made at mlfordsons.com.
