Sarah Edna Farr Barnett, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on March 26, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
She was born July 15, 1934 the daughter of the late John Wesley Farr and Gertrude Burnett Farr. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Willie Dean Barnett, brother Larry Barnett, step-brother Bobby Barnett, sister Maxine Hill, and a precious granddaughter, Cori Wooten.
She is survived by two daughters: Teresa Posey of Pendelton S.C., and Aleta Winchester (Joel) of Mountain City, Ga.; three sons: Randy Barnett of Clayton, Ga., Danny Barnett (Merry) of Tiger, Ga., and Ricky Barnett of Clayton, Ga.; seven grandchildren: Bret Barnett, Lea Maysonet, Brandy Ledford (Ronnie) Justin Posey (Crystal) Heather Posey Franks (Preston) Devin Wooten, Sara Faith Garcia (Jose); two step-grandchildren Ashley York (Jonny), Jeanna Owens (Ben); 13 great-grandchildren and great nephew Wayne Effler (Tammy).
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Sheltering Arms Gospel Tabernacle at 3 p.m. with Rev. Bryan Alexander and Rev. Joel Winchester officiating. Interment followed in the Rabun Memory Park Cemetery.
