Sgt. Gene W. Hewitt passed away from cancer at his home in Tiger, Dec. 31, 2020.
He was an Army Sergeant in Vietnam. He is preceded in death by his mother Elaine Riley Hewitt.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hewitt, his father Lloyd Hewitt (Carolyn); two sisters: Karen Rogers and Heidi Hickman (Rusty); three sons, Bruce Baxter (Hope), Jason Hewitt, David Hewitt; two granddaughters that he and Sherry raised as daughters, Chelsey Hewitt and Katie Hewitt; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Kay Kelley; a brother-in-law Butch Baxter (Debbie), and lots of nieces and nephews
There will be a private memorial at a later date. A GoFundMe was set up in his name.
