Sue Reeves Tidwell Dixon Paulsen, age 94, formerly of Lake Burton, passed away January 3, 2021.

Sue was born in Cedartown, Georgia, the daughter of the late E.C. Reeves and the late Frances Clyde Biggers Tidwell.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Agnes Scott College in 1949, and in 2000 moved from Atlanta to Lake Burton, where she became a member of St. James Episcopal Church (and a founding member of the St. James Book Club). After the 2011 tornado Sue and her husband Chuck moved to Tiger, and because of declining health after his death in 2014, she made the difficult decision in 2018 to relocate to The Oaks at Braselton, where the sadness of leaving her Clayton friends was mitigated by proximity to her daughter's family.

In her younger days Sue enjoyed dancing, tennis, and playing bridge with neighborhood friends, and throughout her life enjoyed reading, gardening, and puzzles. She was a light in the life of her family and friends, and her warmth, intelligence, generosity, and zest for life will be sorely missed.

In addition to her parents Sue was preceded in death by her husband Charles Mallory Paulsen.

Sue is survived by one son, Dr. F. Earl Dixon of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Teresa Dixon Aiello of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Laura Dixon Brown of North Scituate, Rhode Island; seven grand children, Jennifer Aiello-Jones, Kathryn Aiello, Elizabeth Dixon, Emily Dixon, Melissa Sue (Brown) Randall, Timothy Joseph Brown, and Amy Teresa Brown; nine great-grandchildren also survive.

The family will have a service at a later date.
