Terry Matthew York, 64, of Mountain City, Ga., passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020.

He was born in Clayton, Ga., and was the son of the late John Howard York and Sarah Dorothy Moore York.
He is survived by his two sons and one daughter, Dallas York (Kara) of Buford, Ga., Isaac York (Jennifer) of Franklin, Tenn., and Hannah York of Fort Worth, Texas; his four brothers, Howard York of Dillard, Ga., Rudy York of Marion, Ky., Doyle York (Vicki) of Rabun Gap, and Robert York of Rabun Gap; and five grandchildren, Kendall, Grayson, Jackson, Colton, and Austin.

Terry was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church. He was self-employed and loved cattle farming, antiquing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was also known throughout Northeast Georgia for his craft of “split-rail” fencing, which he enjoyed for 42 years.
A small graveside service was held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at the Wolffork Baptist Church cemetery in Rabun Gap, with Rev. Carlton Walker officiating.
