Timothy “Tim” Fred Long, 71, of Clayton, Ga. passed away on March 3, 2020.

Tim was born August 19, 1948 in Rabun County to the late R.L. “Billy”  Long and Annie Norton Long. He was a graduate of Rabun Gap Nacoochee School.  He married the love of his life Dorothea “Dede” Good. Tim was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He owned and operated L & S Auto Parts in Clayton, Ga. He enjoyed hunting, fishing being outdoors. He never sat still, always piddling on something.  Tim had a love for old hotrods and fast boats.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Kathy Blalock.

He is survived by his loving wife Dede Good Long, two sons Kevin Long (Jordan) of Asheville, N.C. and Jonny Long (Makinzy) of Tiger, Ga.; two brothers, Neal Long (Doris) of Anderson, S.C. and Dean Long (Joyce) of Alpharetta, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Jim Blalock of Wiley, Ga.;  two sisters, Gayle Hopper (Elmer) of Braselton, Ga. and Lorette Inman (Paul) of Otto, N.C.; four grandchildren: Laban Long , Edmund Long, Mila Kate Long and Maggie Long; two special friends: Moon Smith and Sadie Owens.

The family will be at the home of Jonny and Makinzy Long, 126 Stonewall Drive, Tiger, Ga.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 2-3 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. James Turpen officiating.
