Vonnie Dunn Cormier, age 85, died on May 10, 2021, in Tallulah Falls, Ga.

Born in Miami, Fla, on Sept. 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Alfrieda and Clyde Dunn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clifford (Cliff) Cormier. She is survived by her daughter, Caitlin Cormier, and her grandson, Cole Cormier, both of Olympia, Wa; her sister, Velma Friend, of Reddick, Fla.; and her brother, Wayne Dunn, of Naples, Fla.

She attended Stetson University in Deland, Fla, where she studied art. She began her career as a skilled artist painting in oils. Vonnie and Cliff led an adventurous life living on boats for 25 years at Dinner Key Marina in Miami, Fla, and Andros Island in the Bahamas. Eventually, they left the boating life and bought their home in Mountain City, Ga., in 1986.

In Georgia, Vonnie began a new career hand-restoring antique quilts. She loved antiquing and collecting, and was a frequent visitor at Golden Memories Auction. She had a group of girlfriends who loved her dearly. She will be missed.
