Brooks
Wilda Smith Brooks, 72, of Tiger, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022. She was born on Sept. 25, 1949, to the late Clive Holt Smith and Sallie Mae Wilbanks Smith.
Wilda was a quiet soul who loved being around her family, especially the children and was an outstanding mother. She enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing Skip-Bo. She was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church and in recent years she attended Battle Branch Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Shondale (Ricky) Logan of Tiger; her loving boyfriend of three years, Ed Bratt of Tiger; two brothers, Luther Michael (Katy) Smith of Colorado, and David Staton (Betty) Smith of Tiger; nephews, Jonathan (Peggy) McDaniel and family, Marcus (Alice) McDaniel, Kevin Smith and family, and Joshua (Toni) Smith and family; one niece, Kimberly (Peter) Sorrells and family; and several great nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on May 27, 2022, at Hunter Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held later, on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at noon at the family home. Hunter Funeral Home assisted the Brooks family.
