William Samuel Simpson, 79, of Waleska, Ga. went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2020.

Sam was born in Smyrna, Ga. the son of the late Emory Madison Spear Simpson and the late Carrie Lee Payne Simpson. Sam was a plumber by trade. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors including gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a faithful Christian.

In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Simpson; three sisters, Caroline Simpson, Patricia Freeman, and Ann Gunter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Page Simpson; one son, Emory Samuel Simpson (wife Julie), of Oxford, N.C.; two daughters, Renee Singley (husband Tony) of Dallas Ga., Carrie Amanda Simpson of Orange Park Fla.; five grandchildren, Lisa Peoples, Chance Leonard, Caleb Leonard, Emsley Leonard, Andrew Fair; four great-grandchildren, Aiden Richardson, Ava Richardson, Clayton Leonard, Carter Leonard. 

Due to the healthcare crisis our nation is facing, the family will hold a private burial service. 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Sam’s memory to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church 7245 Warwoman Rd. Clayton, Ga. 30525.
