Mrs. Zephene Hollifield Foster, age 94, of the Ayersville Community of Toccoa, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021.

The daughter of the late Walter Clinton and Annie Mae Smith Hollifield, she was born January 5, 1927 at the Wolf Creek in Rabun County, Ga.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Gean McDonald Foster.  They lived in the Ayersville Community of Stephens County for 70-plus years.  She was the last sibling of the Hollifield family and was proud of her four brothers and six sisters.

For 70-plus years she was a long-time member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Ayersville, and taught children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a proud fan of Southern Gospel Music and sung alto in the church choir.  

Surviving is her son, Donald G. Foster of Martin, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law Imogene and Tom Speers of Rock Hill, South Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Jay T. and Jana Foster of Flowery Branch, Ga.; grandchildren David and Melissa Foster, Christina Foster, Keith Foster, Tracie and Todd McEntyre, Kevin Foster, Stephanie and Aaron Rentschler; great-grandchildren: Tiffany and Kyler Wise, Taylee, Ty, Kevin McEntyre, Oliver and Isabella Foster, Asa and Jaya Rentschler.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: David Foster, Keith Foster, Ty McEntyre, Kevin McEntyre, Jeff Foster and Oliver Foster.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from noon until the service time. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing will be observed. Masks are required.
Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Ayersville, with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Zephene Hollifield Foster.
