The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office has taken out warrants on four individuals in connection with suspected narcotics located when deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in Dillard May 31.

Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at Ga. 15 and Bettys Creek Road and found the vehicle unoccupied, according to a social media post by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.

“Suspected narcotics were located in the vehicle, prompting an investigation. During the course of the investigation, deputies discovered that the occupants of the wrecked vehicle were staying in a hotel in Dillard, Ga.,” according to the Facebook post.

“During a search for the occupants, deputies located additional narcotics, drug paraphernalia, two firearms (one being reported stolen), and magazines that were thrown behind a structure,” according to the post.

Total drugs seized were approximately 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 322 grams of cocaine, and 10 grams crack cocaine, which have a total street value of $36,400.

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office took out warrants on Craig Fredricko of Florence, S.C.; Kerri Boggs of Walhalla, S.C.; Cassidy Loper of Walhalla, S.C.; and Lewis Stewart of Walhalla, S.C. on charges of trafficking cocaine; trafficking methamphetamine; possession of Schedule II; possession of firearm by convicted felon; possession of firearm during commission of a crime; theft by receiving; false statements; and traffic-related offenses, according to the post.

“The deputies once again did an outstanding job removing these drugs from our county. They investigated further than just investigating a traffic accident and the result of that work will take four drug traffickers off the street for a long time,” said Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols.

“Unfortunately, that investigative process took some time and the wanted subjects left the area on foot. The wanted subjects are believed to be back in the South Carolina area and the authorities over there are actively looking for these four individuals,” Nichols said.

Nichols said if anyone has knowledge of these individuals’ whereabouts, to contact the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office at 706-782-3612 or download the free smartphone application to submit an anonymous tip.

“Thank you to the deputies for their persistence in this investigation and to the public for any assistance,” Nichols said.
