The community supported Rabun Paws 4 Life through adoption and fundraising events Saturday, June 3, as the adoption event at Sole Place Shoes & Western Wear in Clayton and the fundraiser at Universal Joint in Clayton raised $1,676.

Everett Lampros, public relations, volunteer and adoption coordinator, said both events were a success and Rabun Paws 4 Life is very grateful to everyone who showed support and donated. The following day of the Sole Place adoption event, “Vela” got adopted.

Sweet Charity had a sing-a-long and rock out event at Universal Joint and played Classic and Southern Rock; Country; Motown; and Funk Favorites from the 1960s-1990s. All proceeds raised were donated to Rabun Paws 4 Life. Paws 4 Life had a booth set up at Universal Joint handing out educational resources, and providing information about animals up for adoption and services Rabun Paws 4 Life offers. The mission of Rabun Paws 4 Life is “to make a positive difference in Rabun County by providing a no-kill animal control and shelter to care for and protect animals from abuse, neglect and abandonment. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards possible for the humane and compassionate treatment of all animals.”
