Third Grader Lucy Arnett was announced as the Young Georgia Authors Pioneer RESA District winner for writing titled “The Life of a Pencil.” Arnett will go on to compete at the state level. She was recognized at the April 28 Rabun County Board of Education meeting where board members, school administrators and fellow students clapped and congratulated her on her recognition.

Excitement for creative writing can be fostered in youth beginning at a young age and develop overtime. Encouraging students to celebrate their writing is a very important concept.
