Early voting for Public Service Commission begins Tuesday

Rabun Countians can head to the polls starting Tuesday for the upcoming Public Service Commission Special Primary Election.
Early/Advance Voting for the June 17 Public Service Commission Special Primary Election will be Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rabun County Board of Elections and Registration Office Vote Center, 184 South Main Street, Suite 102, Clayton.
The dates also include two opportunities for Saturday voting on May 31 and June 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rabun County Board of Elections and Registration Office.
While at the polls for the primary, voters must choose either a Republican or Democratic Party ballot for which to vote.
On the Republican ballot
Public Service Commission-District 2 (for term ending Dec. 31, 2030), candidates are Incumbent Tim Echols running against Republican Lee Muns.
Public Service Commission-District 3 (for term ending Dec. 31, 2030), candidate is Incumbent Fitz Johnson with no Republican opposition.
On the Democratic ballot
Public Service Commission-District 2 (for term ending Dec. 31, 2030) candidate is Alicia M. Johnson with no Democratic opposition.
Public Service Commission-District 3 (for term ending Dec. 31, 2030) candidates are Daniel Blackman; Peter Hubbard; Robert Jones; and Keisha Sean Waites.
If a runoff the Special Primary Election for Public Service Commission, Districts 2 and 3, is required, that will take place on July 15.
These are the only races on the ballot for Tuesday, June 17 as the Rabun County Probate Judge Special Election scheduled for the same day was cancelled.
Election Day in November
The regular Special Election for Public Service Commission, Districts 2 and 3, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. During this election, Republican and Democratic candidates will appear on one ballot.
Polls will be open on election day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rabun County Elections office Vote Center, located at 184 South Main Street, Suite 102, Clayton.
