The Rabun County community is nothing short of patriotic when it comes to honoring and celebrating the brave men and women who serve in the United States military. Rabun County will hold multiple events to thank those service members and their families for their sacrifices.

Let’s make this a safe Halloween for everyone

Throughout the month of October, several events have been held for children to dress up in their costumes for days of happiness in confined and secure areas. However, Oct. 31, brings with it additional things to consider as children gather candy outside in the community.

Virtually everyone has a friend or relative who has battled breast cancer, and that is in large part because the disease is so common. One in eight women has a lifetime risk of being diagnosed with the disease. Lots happens in October to bring more awareness to breast cancer.

Everyone who lives in Rabun County already knows it’s one of the most beautiful places in Georgia. We are home to three state parks and countless waterfalls, hiking trails and outdoor recreation facilities that other places only dream of having.
