Once again, no Nobel Prize in Literature

It is my sad duty to tell you, dear readers, that I have once again been denied the Nobel Prize in Literature that I so richly deserve along with the 11 million Swedish krona, about $1 million, which I would have donated to my favorite charity -- me.

Perhaps no recent ballot measure has sparked more confusion than this year’s amendment on property taxes. The General Assembly approved Amendment 1 with overwhelming, bipartisan majorities. Yet the electorate seems less enthusiastic. People don’t even agree about what the amendment would do.

Coming together for election debate

Advance voting for the Nov. 5 General and Special Election is underway and the State of Georgia already broke records on the first day Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Rabun County Elections Office was busy as it had 909 total voters on Tuesday, with 99 of those voters being City of Clayton voters.
