TFS girls build golf skills at FCA camp

Running back a hybrid position in Rabun’s offense

TIGER — Running backs playing in Rabun County’s offense are doing more than carrying the football behind blockers. They are giving quarterbacks additional receiving options. The multifaceted group features returning starter Brody Jarrard and Garrett Bragg, a transfer from Tennessee.

Pupils become teachers at Rabun’s Future Wildcats Camp

TIGER — The students became the teachers at Rabun County’s annual Future Wildcats Football Camp this week.

Youth participate at Rabun County’s Wildcat Tennis Academy

TIGER — AJ Wheeler is doing everything he can to squeeze every ounce of fun out of his final offseason with his teammates. At the Rabun County football team’s pool day June 27, the senior linebacker was an underdog in a belly flop contest.

Youth tennis league provides opportunities

TIGER — During one of his tennis camps last summer, Bryan Getty watched as his then- 7-year-old son and a friend rallied with each other using a special beginner’s ball and it sparked something fresh.

U.S. women, Raptors and O.J. Simpson on Twitter

Three particular national sports items caught my attention last week. The U.S. women’s national team opened World Cup play against Thailand, winning by a record-setting 13-0 margin last Tuesday. The Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship after beating Golden State 114-110 in Game 6 last Thursday.
