RCHS boys hoops with highest ever preseason ranking ahead of season

Coming off of its third region championship and fourth straight Sweet 16 appearance, the expectations are as high as ever for Rabun County boys basketball, on the cusp of a new season. Rabun County, which went 23-6 last year before falling in the Sweet 16 to eventual state champions B.E.S.

RGNS girls basketball back with fresh faces, younger roster

Fresh off of yet another Final Four appearance last season, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School girls basketball is looking to make its mark again.

Rabun back in Class AA with new GHSA classifications

The Georgia High School Association has released its proposed classifications for the 2026-2028 Reclassification Cycle and Rabun County has been moved up to Class AA. Rabun County currently is in Class A Division I, but the new classification brings back the seven classifications model.

New pickleball complex dedication Nov. 11

The diligent work of local individuals will be on display on Tuesday, Nov. 11, when the Rabun County commissioners and the Rabun Pickleball Club host a dedication ceremony for the county’s new public pickleball complex at the recreation center at 400 Rabun Park Rd., Tiger, from 1-2 p.m.

Rabun County seeks potential No. 2 finish in region vs. Elbert

s, Rabun County football is looking to get back on track this Friday, Oct. 31, versus Elbert County in its regular-season finale. The game, which will be played in the famous “Granite Bowl” will kick off at 7:30 p.m.

Eagles host team from Puerto Rico on ‘Senior Night’

If Rabun Gap-Nachoochee School’s football schedule has not made it clear already, the Eagles will play anybody at any time or any place. Even teams from outside of the continental U.S. On Friday, Oct. 31, the No. 84 nationally ranked Eagles will host Legacy Sports Puerto Rico.

Cats fall short of win, region title

TIGER – In a battle of two of the top teams in Region 8 Class A Division I, Rabun County came up just short, falling to Athens Academy on Oct. 24 by a 49-46 score.

Strong second half propels Rabun Gap

The No. 84 nationally ranked Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School football team picked up its sixth win of the regular season in the team’s final road game, 56-21 over Cannon School. Rabun Gap will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 31, at home for Senior Night versus Legacy Puerto Rico.
