Ferst Readers of Rabun County bookmarks importance of early childhood reading
Megan Horn/The Clayton Tribune. Ferst Readers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit available in Rabun County from birth to five-years-old. The program is free for participating families and mails age-appropriate books to each child once a month, a newsletter that features book guides and activity pages as well as more resources to help get the most out of reading together as a family. Each book, such as these pictured, is specifically chosen for each child’s stage of development.
Books can open up the imagination of the reader with endless possibilities for adventures. Reading is especially critical in the early years of life as children grow and develop.
