Main Street in Clayton is the place to be this weekend as the Clayton Merchants and Business Association (CMBA) Downtown Clayton Block Party is around the corner on Saturday, March 16, from 4-8 p.m.
Patrons can enjoy dancing to great DJ music at the Rock House and get some grub at a variety of food trucks from Lobster Dog, Bucket of Shrimp, Sunday Diner, Suzie’s Funnel Cakes, and Nomad Coffee, said CMBA President Sonya Shook.
The food trucks will be set up on South Main Street in front of Reeves.
Shook said downtown Clayton also will be an Entertainment District during that time, so visitors can go to participating restaurants on Main Street and sip on alcoholic beverages from a special cup while they shop.
Shook said all of Main Street will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. from Wander North Georgia to South Main Street at Bridge Creek Inn. Anyone with a Classic Car who wants to Cruise-In to the block party can meet at Ramey Boulevard at 3 p.m. for a spot. Classic Cars will be set up on North Main Street.
The event is sponsored by Reeves, Clayton Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Beck Funeral Home, Clayton Cafe & Market, Isadora Popper, Rabun ABC, Two Sisters, and YourTime Fitness.
“We encourage visitors to shop local in the stores that will be open later with specials,” Shook said.
