Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School celebrated the Class of 2027 on Thursday, May 25, during the Middle School Moving Up ceremony in the Rearden Theater. The event marked the transition to Upper School for the class of 42 eighth-graders.

Sloan Mattis of Highlands, N.C., Owen Murphy of Franklin, N.C., and Greg Seok of Bundang-gu, Republic of Korea, were chosen by their classmates to speak during the ceremony. Head of Middle School Weston Willard presented the Spirit of Rabun Gap awards to two students in each grade who exemplify the best of Rabun Gap at the Middle School. The Spirit of Rabun Gap award honorees were sixth-graders Asa White of Rabun Gap, Ga., and Hattie Williams of Demorest, Ga.; seventh-graders Harper Phillips of Rabun Gap, Ga.. and Camden Sherwood of Franklin, Ga.; and eighth-graders Ayo Iyanda of Atlanta, Ga., and Callie Parker of Franklin, N.C.
