The Diaper Day Resource Fair held at the Rabun County Health Department was a success as community partners came together to provide important resources and information.

Rabun County Health Department Office Manager Sue Darnell said the goal was to make a difference for the community.

“We hope to make this a yearly event,” Darnell said.

Amerigroup Community Care; Rabun Department of Public Health and MedLink Georgia educated about extra benefits and services for Amerigroup and community organizations.

The Resource Fair had giveaways, health information, free diapers and baby wipes and refreshments. Businesses that participated included SouthState Bank; Choices Pregnancy Center; Ferst Readers of Rabun County; MedLink Georgia; Amerigroup; District 2 Public Health; Rotary Club of Clayton; Community Dental; Food Bank of Northeast Georgia; Family Resource Center of Northeast Georgia; and Rabun County Family Connection.

The mission of the Rabun County Health Department is to prevent disease, injury and disability; promote health and well-being; and prepare for and respond to disasters. Provided services include Adult Health Services; Maternal & Child Health Services; Emergency Preparedness; Immunization Services; Environmental Health Services; and Community Partnership.
