Rabun County Fifth Graders participated in Government Day Friday, May 19. Students learned about the many components of government and how it works by participating in several events including a mock trial at the Rabun County courthouse and demonstrations by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office; Rabun County Fire Services; Rabun County EMS/911; Rabun County Search and Rescue; and Air Life medical transport. Rabun County EMA; solid waste and recycling; road department and many other departments participated in Government Day. Students also had a mock election with the Rabun County Board of Elections.
