National Skilled Nursing Care Week was celebrated nationally May 14-20 and Mountain View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clayton used it as the perfect opportunity to help the local community.

Staff donated 169 pounds of food to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.

Terri Dahl, director of social services at Mountain View Health and Rehab, said the staff wanted to give back to the community because at times, people need help.

Dahl said since the theme for the week was “Cultivating Kindness,” “part of that is giving back to the community. We thought we’d give it back that way.”

“Thank you very much for this,” said Food Bank Mountain Branch Director James Brim while accepting the donation on behalf of the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. “Thank y’all so much for what y’all do. Rabun County’s finest made a difference for the community. It’s people like them who make a difference for the community.”
