In the latter part of January, RCHS band students were selected to perform at the University of Georgia at their 75th annual January Band Festival. Known as “Janfest” for short, the event features band students from throughout the southeast who audition for placement in one of eight honor bands at the festival. This year’s festival featured over 1,000 students. From January 16th to 18th, the students attended several concerts by UGA groups, rehearsed with their festival groups, and performed at the final concert on Saturday.” Pictured are (LR) Kat Wheeler, Ashleigh Lewis, Brady Mazarky, Emmit Watts and Daniel Alexander.
