Photo contest open for Lake Living magazine

Right now, it’s cold and icy in Northeast Georgia, but spring will be here soon. With warmer weather will come plans for boating, fishing, hiking and more at one of our area lakes. Lake Living magazine is looking for photos that represent springtime at the lake.

Mayors and city managers from the cities of Sky Valley, Dillard, Mountain City, Clayton, Tiger and Tallulah Falls are regularly invited to participate in roundtable discussions. Rabun leaders unite for first Intergovernmental Roundtable of 2026

CLAYTON, GA — In a collaborative effort to kick off the new year, Forward Rabun hosted its first Intergovernmental Roundtable of 2026 on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Cold spurn of Storm Fern smacks Rabun

Winter Storm Fern brought freezing rain, ice and high winds to Rabun County and surrounding areas last weekend. The weather event began the evening of Saturday, Jan. 24, and continued through Sunday. The significant rainfall led to re-freezing Sunday and Monday evenings.

Food Bank open for linemen, Georgia Power crews

The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia has opened it's doors to linemen and Georgia Power crews who are working during the upcoming winter storm.  Epting Catering is on site providing food to linemen, said  James Brim, director of the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia Mountain Branch.
