Celebrating Women’s History Month with release of ‘The Foxfire Book of Appalachian Women’

The Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center celebrated Women’s History Month recently with a book launch event on Saturday, March 11, at the Rabun County Civic Center Diner for the newly released “The Foxfire Book of Appalachian Women: Stories of Landscape and Community in the Mountain South.

Late Bob Fink honored with plaque at Community Dental

Locals honored the legacy of the late Robert “Bob” Noble Fink in a special way on Friday, March 10, with a memorial plaque dedication event at the Community Dental Clinic.

Rabun County 4-H student wins first place

Georgia 4-H had its Northeast District Project Achievement at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton on March 10-12. Around 400 students from ninth-12th grade competed in a project of their choosing.

MOUNTAIN CITY– Questions about the future of the Mountain City Post Office continue to pile up as residents are growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of information from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) after the Dotson Street office was suspended suddenly in late February.

TIGER– A structure fire in Tiger on March 2 was determined to be a complete loss after Rabun County Fire Services worked two hours and used approximately 8,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.
