Wildcats looking to keep region dreams alive vs. visiting Spartans

Perhaps the most important game of Rabun County’s football season will be played on Friday night, when the Wildcats welcome the No. 1 team in their region, Athens Academy, to Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium.

Rabun Gap preparing for ‘business trip’ at Cannon

After three straight games at home, No. 84 nationally ranked Rabun Gap-Nachoochee school football will be road warriors once again, traveling to Concord, N.C., to take on conference foe, Cannon.

Eagles move past Greenies 42-0 despite slow start

RABUN GAP – No. 83 nationally ranked Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School football claimed a 42-0 win over conference rival Christ School on Friday, Oct. 17. The win for the Eagles moves them to 5-4 on the season and gives them their first-ever lead in the all-time series versus the Greenies, 9-8.

ATHENS – The No. 9 ranked Georgia Bulldogs are unkillable. That sentiment – which has reigned true all season – was demonstrated once again this week in Georgia’s 43-35 win over No. 5 Ole Miss.

Lady Cats softball players earn region honors

Five Rabun County softball players earned region honors for their individual performances this season, the team announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday. Those five players were River Evans, Presley Burrell, Madeline Suarez, Loren Mazarky and Chloe Shirley.

Lady Indians capture first-ever cross country region championship

The Lady Indians made history on Saturday in Athens, running to their first-ever region championship after placing three harriers in the top-5.

Rabun County takes first loss in upset to Oglethorpe County

LEXINGTON – In one of the most shocking upsets in the state of Georgia this high school football season, Rabun County dropped its first game of the season to region foe, Oglethorpe County.

Rabun Gap sends conference rival Charlotte Christian back to North Carolina with 41-28 defeat

The sports programs at Rabun Gap probably do not exchange many Christmas cards with Charlotte Christian teams. They do not care for each other – it is much a battle to the states. With the public address speakers playing “Georgia on My Mind” after the Eagles claimed a 41-28 Oct.
