TFS middle school basketball team picks up skills

TIGER — AJ Wheeler is doing everything he can to squeeze every ounce of fun out of his final offseason with his teammates. At the Rabun County football team’s pool day June 27, the senior linebacker was an underdog in a belly flop contest.

Youth tennis league provides opportunities

TIGER — During one of his tennis camps last summer, Bryan Getty watched as his then- 7-year-old son and a friend rallied with each other using a special beginner’s ball and it sparked something fresh.

Record field for Sid Weber Memorial golf tournament

SKY VALLEY — Sky Valley Golf and Country Club hosted the 12th annual golf tournament benefiting the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund last Wednesday.

Cats’ cornerbacks take pride in stopping receivers

TIGER — If there’s one quality above all others Rabun County coach Jaybo Shaw wants his cornerbacks to have, it’s fearlessness.
