Rabun EMS to halt interfacility transports from hospital

Rabun County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will stop interfacility transports from Mountain Lakes Medical Center to other facilities in August after the Rabun County Emergency Service Transfer Policy was approved by the Rabun County Board of Commissioners during a special called meeting June 30.

Pregnancy center to hold Heartbeat Gala

Local nonprofit Choices Pregnancy Center has been working toward expanding services into neighboring counties to help save more lives. Community members have the opportunity to support that mission by attending the Heartbeat Gala on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 6 until 9 p.m.

North Georgia Community Players are back with A-plus acting in the latest classic comedy “Don’t Dress for Dinner.” Adults, find a baby sitter and get ready for major laughs as the production is rated PG-13. The audience is taken on a whirlwind keeping up with the scandalous events that unfold.

‘Vet to Vet Cafe’ honors veterans

Forward Rabun consistently honors and supports Rabun County’s Veterans, and hosts a monthly “Vet to Vet Cafe” the second Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. The July 14 Cafe was met with near-record attendance!

Painted Fern Art Festival brushes ‘stunning success’

The North Georgia Arts Guild had a successful Painted Fern Art Festival last weekend as 40 Guild members showcased their varied talents on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12.
