Black bags were taped on the windows of the Mountain City Post Office at the end of February as the Dotson Street site was unable to renew its lease for March. The Mountain City post office boxes were relocated to the Rabun Gap post office. Little, if any, activity has occurred at the site since the building was shuttered.

Megan Broome/The Clayton Tribune. Crowds of people showed out to The Dillard House July 3 and 4 to celebrate Independence Day with a cookout and live music by Hunter Grayson on the Oaklawn. Attendees were excited to show their patriotism by sporting red, white and blue and waving American flags.

It is one of two paintings part of a silent auction fundraiser for North Georgia Arts Guild scholarships. The painting is on display at Butler Galleries until July 7 and will be on display for bidding during the Painted Fern Art Festival July 8 and 9.
Enoch Autry/The Clayton Tribune. Members of the Ski Patriots wave toward people on balconies of houses on Lake Burton on July 1. In groups, the skiers went around the Rabun County lake for a total of 27 miles. This popular annual event has been putting smiles on individuals’ faces for the past 15 years. This time the youngest skier was 10 years old.
