Passport Day at the Rabun County Library

Passport Acceptance Agent, Holly E. Henry-Perry will be available at the Rabun County Public Library, Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon to accept all new and renewal passport applications. Application forms will be available on site.

Today, July 27, 2023, is the 70th anniversary of Korean Armistice and is National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day. On July 27, 1953, North Korea and South Korea signed the Korean Armistice Agreement.

Class of 2027 honored at RGNS Moving Up

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School celebrated the Class of 2027 on Thursday, May 25, during the Middle School Moving Up ceremony in the Rearden Theater. The event marked the transition to Upper School for the class of 42 eighth-graders. Sloan Mattis of Highlands, N.C., Owen Murphy of Franklin, N.C.

Lake Burton Civic Association honors students at annual meeting

The Lake Burton Civic Association (LBCA) held its annual meeting at Camp High Harbour. A record number of 375 members attended the meeting On Saturday, July 15. It was a mix of fun, community, and business as the members gathered for a business meeting and then enjoyed a Retro Beach Party.
