Clayton public works crews worked overnight Sunday, Nov. 13, to replace valves on Main Street as part of an ongoing process to replace valves and fire hydrants in the city.

Powers remembered as beloved friend, coworker

Long-time city of Sky Valley Building Inspector and City Marshal Bob Powers is remembered by many as a beloved friend and coworker who will be sorely missed. Robert (Bob) James Powers, 87, of Rabun Gap, was an Army veteran who died on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2022.

Election season isn’t over just yet as Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Herschel Walker will face Democrat incumbent Rev. Raphael Warnock in a runoff election slated for Tuesday, Dec. 6. A runoff will be held as neither Warnock nor Walker received over 50 percent of votes in the Nov.
