County approves budget with no tax increase

CLAYTON— Commissioners unanimously passed a motion to approve the county’s 2021 FY budget of $22,864,738 at their meeting on Tuesday. Commissioner Stephen Arbitter was not present to vote at the meeting. This is less than the previous year when budget expenditures were $23,212,545.

Despite being forced to end the academic year in an atypical fashion, Tallulah Falls School held a somewhat-traditional graduation ceremony for its 62 seniors Friday night.

County purchases new equipment to be used for fire, rescue operations

Rabun County Fire Services’ 12 stations respond to calls around the county, and they now have a ladder truck for fire and rescue.  The 75-foot 2001 E-One ladder truck is the county’s first and was put into service on May 14 and has responded to several calls.

CLAYTON— There are many reasons to count your blessings, and they come in many shapes and sizes and in many different ways. In Rabun County, many of those blessings will come to people from a brown wooden box that holds food items and other essentials for anyone in need.

CLAYTON— The Rabun County Library now has three additional computers where residents can complete the 2020 United States Census. The census is counted every 10 years and every resident is given one to complete.
