City disputes county water bill

CLAYTON— The balance due on water bills for the city of Clayton and the city of Tiger sewer bill caused heated debate among City Council members and the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) at the Clayton City Council meeting on Tuesday.

New Sky Valley officials looking forward to 2020

SKY VALLEY— The city of Sky Valley swore in a new mayor and council members at their council meeting on Tuesday, and the elected officials said they are looking forward to working together for the citizens of their city in the sky.

Detective John Murphy and Detention Center Officer Jeremy Gallagher both went into law enforcement because they wanted to make a difference and help people. That commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed by their peers, who selected Murphy as Deputy of the Year and Gallagher as Jailer of the Year.

Rabun ranked 2nd in state for number of flu cases

Local couple steps in to keep Dillard store from closing

DILLARD— Jeff Harris walked into the Piggly Wiggly in Dillard about three weeks ago to pick up something and learned that the store was scheduled to close. It was then that he decided he and his wife Lisa should consider taking action to keep it open.

 The year 2020 is finally here and it is once again time to complete the United States Census. The census is counted every 10 years and every resident is given one to complete. Kent Woerner, Rabun County Commissioner, is the Chairman of Rabun County’s Complete Count Committee.
