Rabun County has had a year-long celebration for its Bicentennial, and festivities conclude on Saturday, December 7 with a community-wide birthday party.
It’s the last event of the bicentennial that’s coming together, said Stephen Arbitter, chair of the Bicentennial Committee.

Rabun students score highest in region on test

TIGER— Rabun County Schools recently received their “Report Card” for student success during the 2018-2019 school year and came out at the top of their class.
Out of 14 school systems in the Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA), Rabun County Schools scored first place system-wide with at 82.

Council wants more time to study short-term rentals

CLAYTON—The city council voted 3-2 Tuesday to table the first reading on a proposed short-term rental ordinance until next month in order to address concerns from owners in property zoned R-1 who do not want Airbnb’s and other vacation rentals in their neighborhoods.

Rabun County honored that day at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 in a Veterans Day Ceremony held at the Rabun County Courthouse.
