Community cuts ribbon on new Appalachian Trail community kiosk

The City of Clayton and Rabun County earned the designation as an Appalachian Trail (AT) Community in 2021 by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. The county offers many attractions for adventure-seekers with various interests to enjoy, especially in the outdoors.

Candidates qualify for May General Primary/Nonpartisan Election

A slate of candidates qualified during a five-day period for local, state and federal races in the May 21 General Primary/Nonpartisan Election. Qualifying ended at noon on Friday, March 8.

North Georgia Arts Guild shows & tells their favorite movie titles through art

North Georgia Arts Guild displayed beautiful artwork and showed off their artistic skills in the “Show and Tell” showcase with movie titles as the theme in a special presentation at the Feb. 15 meeting. Artists revealed their pieces and the inspiration behind them.

Quantity of qualifiers high as deadline nears

Qualifying began Monday for the May 21 General Primary/Nonpartisan Election and several Republican, Democratic and Nonpartisan candidates have already tossed their hats in the race for various local and state offices.

Rabun County FFA celebrates National FFA Week

The Rabun County High School FFA Chapter was first established in 1938, and is still advocating for the future of agriculture. Mr. Clay Brown and Mr. James Hale currently serve as advisors for the Rabun County FFA Chapter.

Ethics committee takes no action against elected officials

No disciplinary action was taken by City of Clayton Ethics Committee members following a Tuesday public hearing of the committee after a complaint was filed against “various members of the city council” who were serving on the council in the Fall of 2023.

Rabun musician pushes genres to new heights

Local crooner and fly-fishing savant Scott Low will introduce his first album in four years with eight release-party venues in the area including in his home county of Rabun on March 1.
