Eagles bball boast continuity heading into season

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee varsity basketball team will be led by five seniors as the core of the team. Domas Kauzonas, Paulius Matulionis, Theo Antinori, Luke Earnhadrt, and DJ Kovacevic make up the graduating class.

Bass fishing team takes third in tourney

The Tallulah Falls School Bass Fishing team is set to begin the 2022-23 season. Once again, the team will compete within the Georgia Bass Nation tournament. This year’s crew consists of six anglers, three high-schoolers and three middle-schoolers.

Tallulah Falls’s dream postseason is a reality, as TFS secured a state championship game appearance with a stellar 3-1 win over No. 1-ranked Mt. Pisgah at home on Oct. 29. TFS will take on Mt. Bethel on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 3 p.m.

TFS fourth-place harriers heading to state

The Tallulah Falls boys and girls cross country teams both placed fourth at the Class A Division I Region 8 meet on Oct. 27 to send the runners into the state championships. The Lady Indians and Indians will travel to Carrollton for the state title run on Friday, Nov.

Wildcat X-country teams third at region

Both Rabun County cross country teams placed third in the Region 8 meet, sending them both to the Class A Division I state championship on Friday, Nov. 4 in Carrollton. The Lady Cats finished with 67 points, while the boys finished with 101 points.

RCHS, a state playoff No. 1 seed who has won 50 straight region games, now awaits the yet-to-be-determined No. 4 seed from Region 7 for the Class A Division I postseason opener on Nov. 11 in Tiger.

For the ninth straight year, the Rabun County Wildcats are region champions. The previous eight region titles were with the Wildcats in Class AA Region 8 with RCHS winning the Class A Division I Region 8 title in their first year in the classification.
