RCHS track battles weather, opponents

The Wildcats and Ladycats faced opposition on multiple fronts March 25 at their track meet at Habersham County as the weather served as stiff competition along with the other schools. “We are very proud of our Wildcats,” said C.J. Stockel, RCHS boys track coach.

Lady Indians set wins record in 4-3 thriller

The Lady Indians scrapped together a great game in all facets, beating George Walton 4-3 in a pivotal region match on the road Tuesday night. The victory, number nine for TFS, set a new program record for wins in a single season.

Defense helps lock down second straight Indians win

Tallulah Falls shut down George Walton in a road tilt on Tuesday night, securing a 2-0 victory -- the team’s second straight. A scoreless game at the half saw TFS come out with more intent in the second half. The Indians won a penalty kick and Sean Lynes, Jr.

MS golf earns wins over Cherokee Bluff at The Orchard

The TFS MS golf teams both took Thursday wins at The Orchard against Cherokee Bluff. The boys earned a 5-stroke win of 101-106, as Tate Turpin was the low medalist. On the girls’ side, Bella Hulsey played low medalist as the Lady Indians won 64-90 (top two scores).

Indians blast 5 home runs, rally to win slugfest over Rabun

The Indians set a school record with 5 homeruns in an 18-11 slugfest at home on Tuesday against visiting Rabun County, earning a third straight victory in the process. The game featured Rabun County taking a commanding 9-1 lead before TFS rallied back for the win.

While most hobbies and extracurricular activities that Tallulah Falls’ students are involved in are school-based, some find a niche beyond the TFS campus. For sophomore Kenneth Henderson of Alto, his passion takes him to motor racing courses all over the state. Henderson competes in the U.S.

10U boys wins rec’s first state title

Winning starts young in Rabun County when it comes to basketball. The 10-and-under boys team became the first boys team in the county’s history to capture a Georgia Recreation and Park Association state tournament championship.

The season did not end as the Ladycats had desired. With the scoreboard displaying 0:00, the Rabun County girls watched as Elbert County head coach Josh Jones and his Lady Blue Devils hoisted the trophy on March 10 in the Macon Coliseum as ECHS claimed its first girls Class AA state championship.
