Rabun Gap summer day camps begin next week

Starting June 5, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School will begin their summer day camps. Each camp is scheduled for a week, spanning from Monday to Friday. Most camps will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon, while others will begin at 1 p.m. and end at 4 p.m.

Lady Indians golf fifth at state; Indians 11th

In the final match of her high school career, senior Hannah Lundy put the Lady Indians golf team on her back and guided the Tallulah Falls School to a fifth-place finish at state.

Football season is fast approaching. As a precursor to the 2023 Class A Division 1 season in Region 8, the Rabun County football team hosted their annual Spring Game on Thursday, May 18. Despite the rain, the Wildcats showed flashes of a new team led by rising sophomore quarterback Ty Truelove.

Wildcat golf claims eighth at state championship

One season after claiming third place in state, the Rabun County boys golf team took eighth place in the GHSA Class A Division I state championship meet. Held at Arrowhead Pointe Golf Club in Elberton, Ga.

Tallulah Falls girls 4X400 team claims state title

Tallulah Falls School Track & Field competed in Rome in the GHSA 1A DI State Championships, May 11-13. Paced by their relay team, the Lady Indians placed 10th with 26 points. The Indians finished 25th overall with six points.

Fall sports Rabun County rec department signups open

The Rabun County Recreation Department now has signups open for tennis, football and cheerleading and cross country. The youth tennis league signup deadline is May 21, while the other two are June 24. You can register for all of these events on www.sportsengine.

Rabun Gap’s Spring seasons come to a close in playoffs

The Spring season for most of the Rabun Gap teams came to an end last week in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association. The only team still competing is the track and field team, which competes at the NCISAA state championship on Friday and Saturday, May 19-20.

Goodwyn wins high jump silver medal at state

The Rabun County track and field teams competed in the state track and field championships from Thursday to Saturday, May 11-13. The meet, held at Barron Stadium in Rome, included 35 teams for the boys and 33 for the girls from Class 1A.

Rabun Gap athletes sign to play collegiately

Thirteen Rabun Gap student-athletes signed their letters to play collegiately next year on Wednesday, May 3. Combined with the eight from the December signing, 21 Rabun Gap students will be continuing their efforts on the field at the next level.
