Rabun County to be well-represented at GHSA state championship in Rome

Sixteen Rabun County High School student-athletes qualified in 16 events at the GHSA state sectional in Barnesville for the state championship track and field meet this week in Rome at Barron Stadium.

Indians claim first places in field events running, to advance for chance at gold

The first-place efforts of juniors Julianne Shirley and Sam Ketch along with the girls 4X400-meter relay team paced Tallulah Falls at the Saturday, May 6, GHSA state track and field sectional as multiple Indians advanced to this week’s state championship in Rome at Barron Stadium.

The Rabun Gap boys tennis team honored their seniors on Thursday, May 4, against Asheville Christian Academy. Before the matches began, Rabun Gap re-dedicated their tennis courts to Donald Arbitter, who was a tennis and basketball coach as well as a teacher at Rabun Gap from 1958-93.

Rabun Gap girls soccer finishes season with two home games honoring seniors

The Rabun Gap girls soccer team is now on a six-game winning streak after defeating Asheville School 2-0 on Friday, April 28. The girls team is now 13-2-1 with one game remaining in the regular season.

Lady Indians tennis falls to Bleckley in Elite Eight

Despite a hard-fought match at several lines, the Lady Indians’ historic run ended in the Elite Eight on Monday afternoon against visiting Bleckley County. Tallulah Falls fell 3-1, with the lone win coming at No. 2 singles by Jaeda-Lee Daniel-Joseph, the 16th of the season for the freshman.

Rabun County track and field earns region runners-up to advance to state sectionals

Rabun County took second place on both the boys and girls side at the Class A Division I Region 8 tournament over April 25-28, advancing to the state sectionals May 6 at Lamar County. The girls earned 138 points, while the boys took 106 points.

TFS boys third, girls fifth at region championships

Tallulah Falls competed in Day Two of the Region 8-A DI Championships on April 26. After seeing a pair of athletes claim individual region titles and several earning state sectional bids on Tuesday, the team set out for more history in the final day of the meet.

Eagles baseball soars into final home game of season

Rabun Gap baseball is entering the final week of the season with a 15-4  record. On Wednesday, April 19, the Eagles traveled to Seneca where they won 4-1 thanks to a three-run home run from junior first baseman Argenis Lopez.

Track and field honors seniors in last home meet of season

The Rabun County high school track and field teams honored their seniors during the final home meet of the season on Wednesday, April 19. The Wildcat teams now traveled to Elbert County on Wednesday, April 26, and also Friday, April 28, for the Region 8 Class A Division I regional championships.

TFS girls tennis advances to Elite Eight, boys fall in Sweet Sixteen

The Tallulah Falls girls tennis team advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in school history, while the boys team fell 3-0 to Whitefield Academy which ended their undefeated season Oon Monday, April 24.
