10U boys wins rec’s first state title

Winning starts young in Rabun County when it comes to basketball. The 10-and-under boys team became the first boys team in the county’s history to capture a Georgia Recreation and Park Association state tournament championship.

Elbert County claims basketball crown

The season did not end as the Ladycats had desired. With the scoreboard displaying 0:00, the Rabun County girls watched as Elbert County head coach Josh Jones and his Lady Blue Devils hoisted the trophy on March 10 in the Macon Coliseum as ECHS claimed its first girls Class AA state championship.

Freshman phenom Sungur works toward ultimate goal as Olympic hopeful

Like a fish in water, freshman Emre Sungur is a natural fit in the pool. Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, Sungur found his way to Tallulah Falls School. He’s made an immediate impact on campus, and has had great success early and often as part of the state-qualifying swim team.

RCHS girls handle Raiderettes’ late surge to advance to AA title game

Playing one of their best defensive games of the season, the Ladycats now will compete for a Class AA state title after defeating Northeast 50-39 in the Final Four at Georgia College & State University on March 4.

Season Recap: Varsity Boys Basketball

When the dust settled on the 2021-22 season, it was nothing short of ‘sweet’ for the Indians. Tallulah Falls made history with the program’s third-ever Sweet 16 and similarly third-ever 20-win season. The Indians were state-ranked the entire season, climbing to as high as No.

The Lady Eagles defeated North Raleigh Christian Academy 36-33 to claim the program’s first-ever state championship. RGNS completed its season with a 23-6 record.

Executing the smaller things leads to bigger things was evidenced on the basketball court when the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School Lady Eagles captured the program’s first-ever state title with a 36-33 triumph over North Raleigh Christian Academy.
