‘Cats claw their way up to No. 8 in state

Rabun County boys basketball has hit its stride at just the right time as the Wildcats now are ranked eighth in Class AA. The RCHS boys have three remaining regular-season games – one away, two home – prior to the start of the region tournament.

Rabun Gap hoops soaring

The basketball programs of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee scored big victories during the latter part of January – including an overtime thriller for the boys at home against the visiting Asheville School. The RGNS boys game against Christ School of Arden, N.C., that was scheduled for Jan.

Indian tennis teams want to net more wins

Ready or not, the Tallulah Falls School tennis teams are set to open the 2022 season. It comes as a season full of promise for both the boys and girls, coached by Randy Morris. GIRLS The Lady Indians made history last year, advancing to the GHSA State Tournament for the first time ever.

TFS looks to build on baseball playoff run

The natural step for the Indians is to build off last season’s playoff run. TFS put up a program-record 13 wins, finished fourth in the region standings, and played in their first-ever playoff series. This all happened under first-year head coach Justin Pollock.

TFS boys soccer goes into second year of GHSA after first-ever playoff berth

Last season proved historic for the TFS Indians in more ways than one. It was the first year as part of GHSA, and produced the team’s first-ever state playoff berth, as well as eight wins and the single-season goals record being surpassed by former Tallulah Falls star Max Farris.

Gibson promoted to Rabun Co.’s AD

Rabun County school officials announced Tuesday afternoon that Jason Gibson has been promoted to RCHS athletic director. Gibson served as the assistant athletic director under former athletic director and head football coach Jaybo Shaw.

Big wins catapult RCHS girls in rankings

The Rabun County Ladycats boosted their overall record to 15-3 as one of those victories included a win over the Class AA No. 1-ranked and region foe Elbert County. The RCHS girls have reached their win total using a tough defense and balanced scoring from an array of players.

‘Cats run wild on 2022 opponents

The Rabun County boys basketball team continued its solid play after the school system and the county were hit with an accumulation of snow from winter storm Izzy. In the last four contests for the RCHS boys (15-5), the Wildcats have been 3-1 as the three victories came against region opponents.

TFS slides past Loganville Christian on senior night

Tallulah Falls secured a 64-58 win over Loganville Christian Academy at home Tuesday night, while also celebrating four seniors. Charlie Cody, George Ketch, Gavin Page and Milos Vico all were recognized as seniors.
