Sweet 16 sours on Wildcats in OT

One of the best seasons in the history of Rabun County Wildcat basketball ended Feb. 25 in the Sweet 16 in a 72-63 overtime loss. The loss results in the the conclusion of some of the most prominent seniors in all the years of RCHS basketball.

Lady Eagles soar into title tilt

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Lady Eagles with a strong backing of the home team fans now are headed to Saturday’s 4A state championship basketball game after defeating Wesleyan Christian 58-50 in the semifinals Tuesday evening.

Both No. 1 seeds take care of business in 8-AA tournament

Make it two region titles for the Rabun County basketball programs. The Ladycats and Wildcats claimed victories at home on Feb. 18 as No. 1 seeds in the Region 8 tournament.

Rabun Gap wrestlers successful at state

Eight wrestlers from Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School competed at the Feb. 18 NCISAA state championship with six of the Eagle athletes placing at Providence Day tournament. Sophomore Clay Unruh of Clarkesville earned the 132-pound state title as he became the third state champion in program history.
