Roman honored at United Soccer Coaches Awards Banquet

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School junior Emilio Roman was recognized at the United Soccer Coaches Awards Banquet in Kansas City, Mo., on Saturday, Jan. 22. The banquet honors soccer players from across the United States who have been named to the All-America Teams.

Tallulah Falls sweeps 1A swimming championships in final home meet

TFS honored its senior swimmers on Saturday, while also competing in their final regular season meet in the 1A Championships. Both the girls and boys claimed the Region Championship in dominant fashion. The girls scored a 488.5, over 100 points higher than second-place Saint Francis (386).

Lady Indians celebrate senior night with win over LCA

On a senior night where both Macy Murdock and Barrett Whitener were honored, the No. 9-ranked Lady Indians blew past visiting Loganville Christian in a 69-28 final. It didn’t take long for the seniors to make their presence known, as Murdock and Whitener had the game’s first points.

Murdock inks with Berry College track & field

Macy Murdock signed her letter of intent with Berry College on Thursday afternoon at Tallulah Falls School, surrounded by her family and friends. The senior track and field standout from Carnesville inked her commitment on Jan. 13 to pursue her academic and athletic career at Berry.

Varsity swim teams finish top-5 in Clarke-Oconee Invitational

The Tallulah Falls School varsity swim teams had solid outings on Jan. 14 at the Clarke-Oconee Invitational. The Lady Indians came in fourth among 16 teams, while the boys came in fifth out of 18.

Junior varsity Indians remain unbeaten in region play

The TFS Indians JV team earned a 35-27 win to continue its solid 2021-22 season. The Indians beat George Walton at home Friday night to remain undefeated within the region. Vlad Popescu paced TFS with 15 points, including hitting a three-pointer.

Precision rifle takes key win over Dawson County

After a long hiatus between matches, the TFS precision rifle team earned a key home win on Jan. 13 against Dawson County, a Class 3A school. The Indians edged Dawson 1,110-1,068. Freshman Kylee Loudermilk continued her impressive season, leading all shooters with a 285.

RCHS names OC Davis new head football coach

Rabun County hired a new head football coach with experience operating high-powered offensive programs Thursday and did so without the need for nationwide search as the candidate was already in the county.
