Dillard voters will have the opportunity this November to decide on package sales of alcohol after council members voted May 12 to approve a resolution adding a referendum to the ballot considering the authorization of package sales of distilled spirits.

Motorists traveling on Franklin Street at Henry Dillard Street in the city of Dillard will now notice a three-way stop sign at the intersection following a resolution adopted by city council members on May 12.

Memorial Day ceremony honors those who gave their lives for our freedom

Community members united on Monday, May 25, for a Memorial Day ceremony honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, as well as all military veterans who have served. The event was held at 11 a.m.

Emerse into Appalachian culture at Foxfire Heritage Days

Family fun is just two weeks away as the 18th annual Foxfire Heritage Days gears up on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The event is sponsored by the City of Mountain City.

Incumbents who faced opposition retain posts

The incumbents who faced opposition retained their respective Rabun County seats in Tuesday’s General Primary and Nonpartisan General Election as two county commissioners and a local judge prevailed.
