District 2 Public Health Departments have coordinated with community partners to locate COVID-19 vaccine clinics to larger spaces, according to a statement from Public Information Officer Dave Palmer Tuesday.
The goal is to maximize efficiency for vaccine delivery.

A Place of Hope North Georgia to offer support for Rabun families

CLAYTON-- A new nonprofit in Rabun County provides faith-based support and resources to children and families in the foster-care community.
A Place of Hope North Georgia (POH) has been approved as a 501(c)3 nonprofit to operate in Rabun County.

Library to reopen March 1 following renovations

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Public Library is getting an overhaul with extensive renovations on the entire facility.
Construction began last week and the library is expected to reopen on March 1, said Library Manager Caroline Frick. Tom Adams is the general contractor for the project.

County buys land for future wastewater plant

CLAYTON-- Rabun County Commissioners approved the purchase of 23 acres of land with plans of expanding the wastewater treatment plant to that location in the future.
The decision was voted on unanimously after a closed session following Tuesday’s meeting.

COVID spread slows locally in past week

The rate of spread for COVID-19 in Rabun County dropped considerably in the last week, according to data released Tuesday by the Georgia Department of Public Health (GDPH).
The percentage of COVID-19 tests returning a positive result dropped to 8.
